U.S. Congressman. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1897 and commenced to practice law in Ashland, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, (1901-07) and was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-first Congress, serving (1907-11). After leaving Congress, he again was a member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, (1915-17), taxing officer auditor general’s department and resumed the practice of law until his death at age 57.
