Mirtie E. Barnes was born in Polk
County Mo. Jan. 8, 1880. Departed
this life at Hewins, Kans. Dec. 24,
1912.
She was married Feb. 23, 1898 to
Clarence A. McClaughry. To this
Union were born five beautiful
children the four youngest of which
are left to comfort the heart of
their lonly father. Madge their
first born went on just one week
before her mother to join the Angel
hosts of Heaven.
Mrs. McClaughry has many rela-
tives, to all whom she was fondly
attached. She was a kind neighbor
a loving wife and mother, and an
earnest Christian. She and her
husband were both members of the
M. E. church at Hewins.
We cannot understand why God
should call her away from those
who so sadly miss her below,
but we know that He doeth all
things well.
Now our Heavenly Father bless
and keep the sorrowing ones till
some glad day they too shall go to
join the loved of the earth in that blest
Home where pain and parting is no
more.
Services were held at the Cedar
Vale cemetery Tuesday afternoon
by Rev. Rorick in presence of a large
concourse of friends.
