Louis' 3 sons each went by different last names. Art became Bronston, Abe, Brownston and Gene the youngest kept the Brownstein name. It was explained to me that they did it when they entered the service. To give them each their own identity. Possibly they also thought that they might serve together if it appeared they were not brothers. (conjecture on my part)
