SLACK--HONEST ABRAHAM, 71, formerly of East Ridge, died Wednesday in Veteran's Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
Born in Athens, Tenn., he was a son of the late Abner E. and Melissa Womack Slack, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He retired from Peerless Woolen Mills with over 30 years of service, and was a former member of the American Legion Blair Post 95.
Survivors include his son, Larry S. Slack, Rossville; stepmother, Mrs. A.E. (Julia) Slack, Rossville; brother, Ransom Slack, Ft. Oglethorpe; three sisters, Annie Lee Geyer, Rossville, Abby Jones, Chattanooga, and Thelma Slack, Rossville; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in National Cemetery with the Rev. Claude Mason officiating. Arrangements by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
