Kenneth Leo Batchman of La Mirada, a native of Great Bend, Kansas, lived in Colton for 44 years, died of cardiac arrest Saturday in La Mirada Medical Center at the age of 79. He was a maintenance engineer for Otis Elevator, a member of I.U.E.C. Local 18 - Elevator Constructors and a Christian. He served in the U. S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, a brother, Bernard of Joshua Tree, and five sisters, Lcuille Awtry of San Bernrdino, Dorothy Adams of Yucaipa, Lee Gustavson of Grass Valley, Phyllis Preece of Colton and Barbara Doying of San Jose. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton.
