George Bea Clark, 76, of Penhook, formerly of Covel, W.Va., died Tuesday, September 30, 2008. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, worked in coal mines for 36 years and owned and operated Penhook Boat Dock for 27 years. Mr. Clark was born September 17, 1932, a son of the late George W. and Fulvia Payne Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 happily married years, Louise Thornton Clark; infant daughter, Rhonda Clark; four brothers, Ervin E. Clark, Desmond Clark, Robert Clark and Clinton Clark; and five sisters, Ruth Pennington, Pauline Phillips, Mary Lee, Katherine Benefield and Nancy Belcher. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Clark is survived by his children, Deborah Rowles and husband, Danny, George (Butch) Clark and wife, Lynn, Sharon Williams and husband, Donnie, and Shawna Henry and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Chastity McBroom and husband, John, Brandon Gautier and wife, Ashley, Jamie Clark and wife, Kim, Jeremy Clark, Derek Lester, Cassandra Williams, and Steven and Kaley Henry; 10 great-grandchildren, Rachael, Melissa, Tye, Bella, Ayla, Madison, Wyatt, Django, Teja and Brady; one brother, Hampton Clark, of Beckley, W.Va.; and four sisters, Mildred Eller, of Lashmeet, W.Va., Lulabelle Repass, Zetta Mae Wimmer, and Phyllis Clisso, all of Princeton, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, from Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton, W.Va., with the Rev. Judith Short officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Princeton, with Military Honors by the Mercer County Veterans Council. His family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008, at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
