Minnie Achtermann, 106, of Aplington, died Saturday, Sept. 27, at Maple Manor Village of natural causes

She was born Dec. 16, 1901, at home on a farm in Butler County, daughter of William and Catherine Peters Klingenborg.

On June 18, 1924, she married the Rev. Paul Achtermann at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Aplington. He died in 1974.

Mrs. Achtermann assisted her husband serving churches in Wilton Junction, Sheffield, German Valley, Ill., and Paterson, N.J.

She was a member of First Reformed Church, Aplington.

Preceded in death by: two sons, Nathan and Paul in infancy; three brothers, Clifford, Pete and Bill Klingenborg; and four sisters, Tena Wessels, Gertie Ackerman, Maggie Ludeman and Fannie Klingenborg.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, both Aplington. Public visitation from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel, Aplington, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
