The daughter of Johann " John " and Sophia Traxel Schuler she was born in Neusatz, Crimea, Russia. She married Johann " John " Denke while still living in Russia. They came to the United States in 1906 and settled in Pennington County, South Dakota. They had 10 children only one of whom was born in the United States. Children are Wilhelm, Heinrich, Lydia, Jacob, Beata, Amalie, Alexander, Bernhard and Anne all of whom were born in Russia with youngest son Edwin H born in Quinn.
