Roy William Turner was born January 25, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County). He was the twin brother of Betty Juanita Turner. Roy and Betty were adopted by Roy Joseph Turner, the 13th Governor of the great state of Oklahoma, and his wife, Jessica Etta Grimm. The twins had a loving home and a life of privilege.

Roy William died on January 24, 1994 and was buried in the National Cemetery in Ft Smith, Arkansas; however, he also has a gravestone in the family plot in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.

Roy W. Turner, age 61, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 24, 1994 at his home. He was a retired petroleum landman, a member of the Methodist Church and was also an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Vicki Turner of the home; a daughter, Jerri Sue Harries of Winetka, Illinois; 2 sons, Roy J. Turner III of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. and Bradford Henry Turner of Waco, Texas.; and 2 grandchildren, Tonya Rhea Turner and Jason Andrew Turner. Graveside services 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1994 at National Cemetery. Arrangements by Edwards Funeral Home, Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
