Mr. E. W. Harris died at his home in Greenville last Saturday night after an illness of several months. The remains were interred Sunday evening in East Mount Cemetery at that place. Mr. Harris was for twenty-nine years owner and editor of the Greenville Herald and he established the Morning Herald. He was president of the Texas Press Association in 1900, a member of the National Editorial Association and of the State Senate of the Twenty seventh legislature. He is survived by his widow and a son, Henry Camp Harris, who married Miss George Roberts Brown of this city. He also leaves an aged mother and two brothers who are in the newspaper business at Henderson, Texas. Leaves have their time to fall and flowers to wither at the north wind's breath, but thou, O, death hath all seasons for thine own. In the death of E. W. Harris, Greenville, Hunt county and the State of Texas, has lost a splendid, high-toned Christian gentleman and citizen and citizen who never let an opportunity pass for the good of his fellowman, town, county, and state. The newspaper fraternity has suffered very much indeed, and his place will be hard to fill. His life and character was the very essence of purity and honor, "none knew hi but to love him, nor named him, but to praise." His spirit has winged its flight to the Great Beyond. The golden gates were opened and a gentle voire said come
