Opal Dahl 1897-1977

Mrs. Opal Dahl, 79, passed away at her home in Bagley on October 17. Mrs. Dahl was born in Ottertail County, Minnesota, on October 20, 1897 to parents Eri and Rachel Ingalls. With her family she came to Holst Township, Clearwater County as a young lady. She was married to Christ Dahl in Bagley on November 19, 1924 and they continued living in Holst Township until moving into Bagley in 1941. Mrs. Dahl was known throughout the area as a teacher in rural schools. She taught in Clearbrook, Pinewood, Minerva, Popple Township and the Pony Lake Schools. She worked at her college degree for many years and graduated from Bemidji State College at the age of 66 in 1964. She was in charge of the Clearwater County Fair School building for many years and a long time member of the Helen Hand Club in Bagley. Mrs. Dahl retired from teaching ten years ago.
Survivors include her husband Christ of Bagley; two sons, Eddie and John of Bagley; one daughter, Mary Faye, Mrs. Warren Field of Bagley; two sisters, Fay Sims and Grace Olson, Bagley; one brother, Iron Ingalls of Lincoln, Montana; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dahl was preceded in death by her parents. six brothers. two sisters and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, at 2 p.m. in the Cease Funeral Home Chapel of Bagley. The burial will take place at the Bagley City Cemetery with Elder C.R. Rotzien of Fargo officiating. Cease Funeral Home of Bagley was in charge of arrangements.
