Reported to be the daughter of Gov. Benjamin Harrison of Virginia.Her mother was Elizabeth Bassett.

Her grave is marked with a stone that has no markings on it. The cemetery is on the hill at the Mouth of Sparks Branch, over looking the sight of the old Bill Dixon's Home in Lawrence County, Kentucky.She was said to be a sister to President William Henry Harrison.

She married James Moses Wheeler. Their children were- James Harrison Wheeler married Elizabeth Ramey., John Harrison married Nancy Woods.,Eleanor Wheeler married Walter Elam., Nancy Wheeler married Joshua Ramey and Jane Wheeler married William Cordial.


There is a book titled " The Remy Family in America 1650-1942" compiled by Bonnelle William Rhamy, M.D. published in Fort Wayne, IN in 1942.  This book has pretty extensive research and history on the Rheims/Remey/Remy/Remi/Ramey/Rhamy/etc., etc., family starting from their time in France beginning in the year 437 up though 1942.  A very interesting read, over 500 pages in all.  In this data, the name of Eleanor Harrison shows up.  This is the Eleanor Harrison, Daughter of Gov. Benjamin and Elizabeth Basset Harrison and sister to President William Henry Harrison.  See below the excerpt from this book.  Therefore, the Eleanor that married James Moses Wheeler cannot be the same Eleanor, sister of the President. 

 

"FAMILY of WILLIAM R. REMY, son or DANIEL REMY

 

WILLIAM R. REMY, b.in 1759 in Abingdon, Washington Co.,Va., then called

Wolfs Hills. He m. Eleanor Harrison, a sister of William Henry Harrison, who became President of the United States. President William Henry Harrison was b. Feb. 9, 1775 at Berkley, Charles City Co.,Va., son of Benjamin Harrison, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, b. 1740, d. 1791. William Henry Harrison was elected 9th President of the U.S.A. in 1840 and d. April 4, 1841. Eleanor (Harrison) Remy was another child of Benjamin Harrison and his wife Elizabeth (Basset) Harrison who was b. Dec. 15, 1730 and d. in 1784."
