Her father was a solder in the Rev. War. Samuel and Hannah were married in their native county where they had 13 children then moved to 13 November 1840 Springfield IL.
Children of Samuel and Hannah: 1. Alexander b. 15 March 1815 (Franklin Co PA) m 7 October 1847 to Elizabeth Hershey. She died 5 July 1853 in Wabash County IL.
He then m. Ann Elizabeth Field in 1854 who died 11 July 1858.
He then m. 15 April 1859 Mrs. Permelia Skinner. He resides in Mt. Pulaski IL.
2. George b. 30 April 1816 (Franklin Co PA) m. in Springlfield Mary Hendricks, they reside near Belle Plain, Sumner County Kansas,
3. Samuel b 27 Oct 1817 (Franklin Co PA), m. 18 December 1844 Melvina Alvey they had 13 children and reside in Springfield.
4. Louisa b. 4 March 1819 m Avery Constant and reside in Williamsville.
5. William b. 20 Feb 1821 (Franklin Co PA) m 3 July 1856 in Athens IL to Susannah Reed who was b 5 Dec 1832 in Franklin Co PA and had five children. They reside in Springfield.
6. Charles 24 Dec 1822 Quincy, Franklin, PA m 22 Oct 1850 Sarah T. Moffitt who was b. in Springfield the d/o John B. Moffitt one of the early settlers. Mrs. S. T. died 16 Feb 1854, he resides in Springfield.
7. Caroline b.16 Sept 1824 m. 17 Feb 1848 Springfield to Phares A. Dorwin who was b 10 Sept 1820 in Champion, Jefferson, NY. They had three children. Phares died 17 Feb 1870, his widow and three sons live on 511 No. Sixth Street.
8. Susannah m Cyrus Culbertson and reside in Sumner IL.
9. Mary b. 14 Dec 1828 d. 4 July 1852 in Springfield.
10. Hannah M. b.14 May 1831 m. 12 Dec 1855 in Springfield to Shelby M. Cullom. They had two daughters. Hannah died 17 March 1861 Springfield.
