Burl B. Nowell Jr., 84, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held at 10 a.m. today at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Interment followed at Crestview Memorial Park.
Burl was born June 4, 1920, in Corsicana, to the late Burl Burchard Nowell Sr. and Lona Ivy (Lewis) Nowell. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and later retired as a service manager from LTV in 1982. Burl was a member of the Masons, a Shriner, and a member of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Nowell of Wichita Falls; one son, Burl B. Nowell III and wife Carol of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Russell B. Nowell and wife Dorothy of Wichita Falls and Jimmie Ray Nowell and wife Ann of Lake Arrowhead; and four grandchildren, Kevin Wayne Nowell and wife Pam, the Rev. Ronald Lee Nowell, Jason Kent Nowell and Victoria Lin Nowell.
