Julius worked at the UCR (University of California at Riverside) Citrus Experiment Station which was established in the early 1900s. The purpose was to aid in the successful development of the citrus crop in Southern California. He tended the weather recording instruments there for many years. As you can see most of the equipment was old, but Julius kept it running like a clock!
The Citrus Experiment Station proved to be a valuable asset to California agriculture and remains a critical component of citrus research.
