R. T. ADAMS DIED TUESDAY: Well Known Man Passes Away After Long Illness.

After an illness lasting nearly three years from a complication of troubles that the best physcians in the country could not allay, R. T. Adams passed away at his home on Mill Street Tuesday afternoon. The funeral service will be held at the residence at 1:30 o'clock Thursday and will be in charge of Rev. W. D. Samuels of Greenville, Ohio, former pastor of the Christian Church in this city. Other ministers will assist. The burial will be made in Fairview cemetery.

Richard T. Adams was born in St. Joseph county, Indiana, June 12, 1848, and at his death was a little past 64 years of age. His family know very little about his early life except that he was left an orphan at the age of three years and when about five years of age he was adopted into the family of Rankin Hoover, then residents of Wayne County. A few years later the Hoover family moved to this county, settling in the country southeast of this city and were among the most respected residents of the community.

Mr. Adams grew to manhood here and on December 31, 1871, he was married to Lida Hanley, who survives him. For many years they lived on a farm south of town, but a few years ago gave up the active work of the farmer's life and came to this city and the family has occupied a position among the most respected residents.

Mr. Adams was a member and liberal supporter of the Christian Church and also a member of the Knights of Pythias order, a man of high ideals and had the respect and confidence of all who knew him. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and seven daughters, three children having died in infancy.
