Sculptor. She is considered the of of the most important sculptors in Argentina's history. At age 20 she began studying art in Tucuman with the Italian painter Santiago Falcucci, but then she moved to Italy, where her principal teacher was to the celebrated Italian sculptor Giulio Monteverde. Her works are located in squares and parks for all the country, but her most important work, is the famous "Fountain of the Nereids," located in the Coastal South walk, front to Rio de la Plata, in the City of Buenos Aires. As a tribute, the Congress of Argentina instituted by law on November 17, the date of her birth, as "National Day of the Sculptor."
