Cecil VanDruff Davis, 89, of 716 Brookside Drive, died April 8, 1997, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1907, in Jefferson County, Kan., the son of John and Edyth Belle VanDruff Davis. He had lived in Hutchinson since 1966, moving from the McPherson and Marion communities, where he was an oilfield driller. For 16 years, he was the maintenance manager at the Reno County Courthouse, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Mitchell United Methodist Church and a life member of the Salt City Rabbit Club, the American Rabbit Breeders Association and other rabbit clubs.

On April 3, 1937, he married Minnie Wiederstein at Inman. She survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Linda Lee Lamb, Hutchinson; a brother, Harold Alvin Davis, Inman; a sister, Helen Gaede, Little River; and two grandsons, Ron Lamb, California, Mark Lamb, Hutchinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred McCants.
