S. I. Haseltine is the oldest son of Ira S. Haseltine, Greenback congressman from this district in the 47th Congress. He was b. in Waukesha, WI, May 1, 1849. He was educated in the high school of this city, and at the WI State University. In Aug. 1871, he came to MO with his father, and his dad charge of the railway station at Dorchester since Oct. 1 of that year. He deals in grain and fruit, shipping over the 'Frisco road. He was married Nov. 23rd, 1871, to Miss Annie L Miller, a native of London, Canada. Their union has been blest with 3 children viz.: Edwin L, Alfred E. and Charlotte A. Mr Haseltine is a member of the A. O. U. W., the Grange and Brothers of Freedom.

Haseltine Funeral to be Held Friday

Funeral Services for S.I. Haseltine (7)2 years old, who died at Haseltine Station yesterday afternoon, following a lingering illness will be held Fri. morning at 10:30 at the family residence.

Mr Haseltine moved to Greene Co, from Richland Center, Wis. in 1872 and appointed ticket agent at Haseltine Station years later, which position he held for more than 43 years. The name of the station changed from Dorchester to Haseltine in his honor. Mr Haseltine was prominent in Greene Co and was considered an expert apple grower.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Anna Haseltine and four children, Edwin, Fred, and Mary Haseltine, all of whom reside at the family home 5 miles west of the city and Mrs Clifford Mitchel of --- Kimbrough avenue.

His death cert. listed spelling as Spurgheim. Cause of death was carcinoma. Father Ira S Haseltine of Vermont, mother Augusta? [Thomas] Haseltine of Vermont. Edward Haseltine was informant listed on the document. Anna L Haseltine wife. Male, white, married.

Naming patterns suggest the I in his middle name would stand for father's name Ira.
