Kenneth Burgett, age 71 of Spaws Creek Road in West Liberty, Kentucky, husband of Sylvia Burgett, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty, Kentucky.
He was born March 4, 1937 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, son of the Late Johnie Burgett & Emma Fields Burgett.
Kenneth was a retired factory worker & attended Williams Creek Elkfork Community Church in Morgan County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie Burgett & Emma Fields, 1 brother, Paul Burgett and 2 stepsons, Fairley Smith & Michael Smith.
Surviving is his wife, Sylvia (Sparks) Smith-Burgett of West Liberty, KY, 5 Step-Daughters, Velma Dulen, Alma Cantrell, Teresa Goodpaster all of West Liberty, KY, Pam Vest of Elkfork, KY and Marcella Arnett of Somerset, KY, 5 step-sons, Gary Smith, Darris Smith & Dwayne Smith all of West Liberty, KY, Darrell Smith & Drexel Smith of Elkfork, KY. 3 sisters, Eleanor Whitt of Salyersville, KY, Kathrine Williams of Grayson, KY and Helen Grooms of Seaman, Ohio. 2 Brothers, Russell Burgett of West Liberty, KY and Earnest Burgett of Salyersville, KY. Several Step-Grandchildren & several Step-Great-Grandchildren, also a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Herbert Wright, Rev. Jimmie Tharp & Bro. Jonathan Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mary Pack Cemetery in West Liberty, KY.
Visitation will begin after 6:00 pm, Saturday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, KY.
