Floyd C. Halliwill was born on 21 Jun 1889 in Ashtabula Co., Ohio, and appeared on two United States census reports. Unfortunately the 1890 census was destroyed by fire. He is listed on the 1900 census in the household of his father, George Halliwill, as "Floyd son, born June 1889, age 10". Floyd died in late Nov, 1906, and was buried in the Halliwill family plot in Seville's Mound Hill Cemetery. His father purchased the said plot on 1 Dec 1906. Statewide registration of births and deaths did not become a reality in Ohio until 1908, when a law passed in May established a bureau of vital statistics. Therefore the only known record of his death is that of his monument, which was inscribed "Floyd C. Halliwill 1889-1906." Floyd's original monument, a grey granite roll on a pedestal, was moved to the plot of his grandparents, James M. and Mary (Lindsley) Halliwill in 1934, and a new inscription was added. The newer family marker is an upright, pink granite triple stone, as his mother and father share the memorial. His sister, Dorothy Helen, and her husband are also interred in the family plot.
