HOUSTON James Oscar Allen, 71, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a retired farmer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Houston Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Thorn and the Rev. Elkin Heair officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Heair Allen of Houston; two daughters, Janice James and her husband, Jimmy, and Judy Barnett and her husband, Joe, all of Houston; two sons, Johnny Allen and his wife, Ellen, and James Allen, all of Houston; one sister, Marie Vance, and her husband, R.E., of Houston; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harvey Allen and Lera Mae Gann Allen; and three brothers, Elkin Allen, Marion Allen and David Allen.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Criddle, Jerry Criddle, H.D. Allen, Gus Hughes, Eric Allen and Enix Barnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Willis, Thomas Earl Allen, R.E. Vance and Ricky Doss.
