Myron was born June 29, 1949 in Austin, MN the son of Alfred and Elizabeth (Mensink) Severson. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as an insulation installer at CV Insulation Company. He was a member of Prairie Dr. Full Gospel Church, in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children Lisa Smith of Cedar Rapids, Brandy (Jeff) Severson-Jackson of Killeen, TX, Eric and Elliott Severson both of Marion, Brooks (Manuel) Roman and Tamara Severson all of Arlington, TX, and Christian and Lucas Severson both of Cedar Rapids; sisters Dorothy Deike of Austin, MN, Ruby Helgeson of Apache Junction, AZ, Carol Prelesnik of Rio Vista, CA, Deloris Severson of Austin, MN, Ardith (Carl) Vasey of Marion, Janice (Duane) Shafer of Rose Creek, MN, and Cheryl (Rusty) Deets of Bonham, TX. Also surviving are his 14 grandchildren, 27 nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harlan and Ronald, and a sister Muriel Olson.
Funeral services will take place at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor Mark Fulmer of Prairie Dr. Full Gospel Church will officiate.
