Born April 1, 1919, in Jasper, Ark., daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Breedlove Baker, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield. She had worked in the housekeeping department at the Dexter Nursing Center.
On Dec. 14, 1941, in New Madrid, she married Edward Leslie Stroud who preceded her in death on July 22, 1989.
One daughter, Pat Dodson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Roger Stroud; four daughters, Dorothy Sexton, Debra Stroud, Pebel Frederick and Candace Warren; one sister, Eileen Shatswell; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services were held at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. David Hardin officiated.
Burial followed in the Essex Cemetery.
