Born March 18, 1944, at Marston to the late Alexander and Bessie Alice Wilburn Dodson, he was a former automobile mechanic. A veteran of the United States Army, he served in the Vietnam War.
On Feb. 22, 1968, at Parma, he married Pat Stroud who preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2003.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Dodson and Ulis Dodson.
Survivors include: one son, Jonithan Lonnie Dodson; one daughter, April Dodson; four brothers, Jerry Dodson, Benny Dodson, Travis Dodson and Homer Dodson; three sisters, Doris Gregg and June Eddings and Phyllis Kuethle; and five grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where funeral services were conducted with the Rev. James Malloy officiating.
Burial followed in the Essex Cemetery.
