Monroney was one of the pioneer furniture dealers of OKC. His death was the climas of a two weeks illness during which time he was alternately despondent and in good spirts. The illness was caused by a sunstroke suffered while playing golf.
Monroney left his home Sunday morning to work at the store, when he did not return as expected, his son Mike went to the store for his father and in company with an officer found his father in the store basement. The death was self inflicted. A check of Monroneys business showed his personal and company affairs in excellent condition.
He is survived by his wife, son and a daughter. And father S.L. Monroney of Guthrie. Two sisters Dr Winnie Sanger and Mrs M.K. Ray.
