Mr. Boswell served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II as an electrician's mate 2nd. class. Mr. Boswell served as a police officer with the Indianapolis Police Department from March 1949 to February 1974 and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a postal policeman from January 1974 to July 1988. Mr. Boswell is a member of the F.O.P Lodge 86 and was an avid golfer.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles H. Boswell, Edward Burns Boswell and James W. Boswell Sr.; two sisters, Natalie Linville and Loyse E. Boswell.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Rosemary T. Flanagan Boswell; Son, Michael E. (Marilyn) Boswell; daughter, Patricia A. (Hugh) Crawford and Beverly J. (Steve) Price; son, Richard R. Boswell Jr.; Daughter, Maureen R. (significant other Dennis) Morefield; son, Charles J. (Diane) Boswell and James D. Boswell; Daughter, Mary K. Boswell; sister, Mary Virginia Williams; brother, Jack E. Boswell; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
