Pearl was a daughter of George B. & Mary Elizabeth Cramer Halliwill. She married Harry Edward Cole, a son of Oliver "Perry" Cole and Lillian M. Sprankle. He was born on 29 Apr 1896 in Linden Hall, Centre Co., Pennsylvania. Harry died in 26 Sep 1949 in Akron, and was buried on 29 Sep 1949 in Rose Hill. The couple were childless.

At the age of 18, Pearl was employed as a domestic servant in Seville. She married at age 24, and by 1930 was an Akron area school teacher. In 2003, Evelyn (Workman) Halliwell stated that Pearl passed away as the result of injuries suffered from a fall down a flight of stairs. Her death was recorded as Pearl Mae Cole, aged 60 years, a white, widowed female, died 18 Jun 1952 at 4:35 a.m. in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio. Pearl was dead on arrival at St. Thomas Hospital, and her cause of death was listed as "Pending". She was not a veteran and was never issued a SSN. Listed a thirty-nine year resident of Akron, Pearl was a housewife, who resided at 868 Avon Street in Akron, Ohio. Funeral Director: The Billow Company, Akron Ohio (330-867-4141). She was buried 21 Jun 1952 Rose Hill Park, Akron, Ohio. Informant: (niece) Mrs. Laurence (Dorothy) Hemmeter.

The Hale family plot is comprised of four graves; viz. (1) Hazel E. Cole, interred 1 Apr 1948; (2) her husband, Lee Henry Cole, interred 20 Jan 1956; (3) Pearl Cole, 21 Jun 1952; and her husband (4) Harry E. Cole, interred 29 Sep 1947. Billow Funeral Home was in charge of Harry's services, while Kessler Funeral Home of Akron (now defunct) handled those of Hazel and Lee.
