Elaine N. Anderson, of Lincoln City, died on Feb. 5, 2009, at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. She was 81.
Elaine was born July 2, 1927, in Spokane, Wash., the daughter of Arthur and Dora (Eggers) Acuff. She pursued a career in bookkeeping. Active in the communities she lived in, she served as a member of the chamber of commerce in Morgan Hill, Calif., taught as a Sunday school teacher in Gilroy, Calif. and was active in the USO. She married Lloyd T. Anderson on Oct. 11, 1980, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
She is survived by her children, Cathy C. Sullivan of Otis, Sandra G. Hill of Salem, Connie E. Paskvan of Hillsboro, John D. Anderson of McMinnville, Richard Anderson of Hillsboro, and Kathy S. Caba of Bend; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Peter the Fisherman Church in Lincoln City. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at Fir Lawn Memorial Park in Hillsboro, with a gathering to follow at Calvary Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine's memory may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Church Relief Fund and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
