DOROTHY HELEN HALLIWELL
Dorothy Helen Halliwell's original birth certificate was filed in Barberton, Summit Co., Ohio as Dorothy Helen HALLWICK, born 8 August 1916 at Johnson's Corners. Her grandmother, Mary "Elizabeth" Halliwell, initiated a Correction Affidavit, which changed her surname spelling to HALLIWELL and her birth date to 7 August 1916. This said affidavit also stated that "Father and mother are both deceased and I raised Dorothy from two years of age." The author of this said sketch believes that Dorothy "Helen" was raised in the George B. Halliwell home from the age of TWELVE.

Helen was orphaned in 1929, at which time, she and her three siblings, Robert A., George Newton, and Mary Alice, were fostered to family members. Dorothy was reared by her paternal grandparents--George B. Halliwell and Mary "Elizabeth" Cramer and was in the said family's care, at age twelve, as depicted on the 1930 US Census for Seville Village, Medina County, Ohio.

Her death certificate was filed with the Ohio Department of Health Bureau of Vital Statistics as Dorothy Helen Weaver, age 83 years, white, widowed female of North Ridgeville, Lorain Co., Ohio. She was born on 7 August 1916 in Barberton, Summit Co., Ohio and attended twelve years of school. She died at 2:35 a.m. on 20 April 2000 at her residence. Her father's surname was Halliwell, mother's was Barton. No autopsy was performed and her death was certified by a physician. Method of disposition was burial. [Vol. 32377, Cert. 32508].

NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- Dorothy Helen Weaver, 83, of North Ridgeville, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at her home. She was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Barberton to Glenn and Mamie (Barton) Halliwell.

Mrs. Weaver made her home in North Ridgeville for the past 22 years, previously residing in Creston and Strongsville. She worked at McIntire Basket Factory in Creston, American Airlines and owned Dot Restaurant in Creston. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Moose Lodge 968 in Medina.

She is survived by her son, Paul and Linda Weaver of Medina; daughters, Marty Sidwell of Glenville, West Virginia; Linda and Rudy Kerr of North Ridgeville; Marie Harper of Seville and Dyanne Sustersic of Berea; 23 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Weaver, on December 26, 1978, whom she married in 1934; grandson, Glen Sidwell, granddaughter, Denise Walker; sister, Mary Bragg; and brothers, Robert Allen Halliwell and George N. Halliwell.

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main Street, Creston. Burial: Drakesburg Cemetery near Ravenna. Visiting hours: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria 44035. Murray is in charge of arrangements.
