Mary CALDWELL, dau. of James and Elizabeth (ALEXANDER) CALDWELL was born 27 May 1756, in Ireland. She married Moses CHAPLINE. They had a daughter, Mary, born in Pennsylvania, and six sons, Josiah, William, Alexander, James, Moses and Samuel, who married Isabella GRAHAM and had two children Moses and Mary.

"The March 30, 1822, inventory of her estate is very long and involved, reflecting the wealth of the family. One source states that her father gave her a large plantation on Wheeling Creek, later the summer home of her descendant, Lucy Loring Milton." from "History of theWheeling Caldwells" by Dorthy Jamison.
