HENDERSON, Mr. Walter - Age 55, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, January 23, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Friday. Mr. Henderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed Friday during funeral service only.
Mr. Walter Lee Henderson aka "Walt J." was born March 24, 1953 in Layette, Alabama, the son of Claude Henderson and Jessie Spence. He attended school in Knoxville, TN. Walter was handed with his hands, he was a skilled painter, loved life, cooking, spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed listing to music and fishing.
Mr. Walter Lee Henderson leaves to cherish his sweet memories: devoted daughter, Monique Gowder; mother, Jessie Spence; 3 brothers, Ernest Henderson, James (Sharon) Taylor both of Flint and Charles Taylor of TN; 5 sisters, Brenda (Bobby) Thames, Bernice (Willie) Riouse, Dorothy (Pastor Robert) Parrish and Barbara Taylor all of Flint, Elaine Taylor of TN; 2 grandsons, Domonique Stringer and Leo Stringer both of Flint; 2 aunts, Lillie Spence and Georgia Spence both of Flint; uncle, Richard Spence of Lapeer, MI, a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends including special friends, Doris Gowder and Otis Dendy and Brazska Miller.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hurley Medical Center ICU, 9th floor nurses and Hospice Care. Nephew, Mitchell that was there the entire time.
