US Congressman. Elected to represent Massachusetts's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1817 to 1820. Also served as a Member of the Massachusetts State Legislature, Member of the Maine State Legislature, and United States Senator from Maine from 1820 to 1827.
