While this Thomas' father and brothers were heavily into politics (his father was one of the first two U.S. Senators from Tennessee), Thomas chose to stay home on the farm, the Mulberry Grove plantation near Mooresburg, TN.
Thomas first married Harriet Harle on October 28, 1829, After Harriet's death, Thomas married the widow Lucinda Stubblefield Creed on September 25, 1847.
Thomas and Lucinda were buried in the Cocke family cemetery, which was presumably located somewhere on the planation, but in 1941, TVA moved Thomas and Lucinda's graves to the nearby Livingston Cemetery to make way for Cherokee Lake.
Update: I am looking for more information about their children. There were 2 daughters: Mary Ann, who married Thomas Roddy Read, and Margiana, who married 1) George Moore and 2) Bob Capps, but it is unknown at this time if they were borne of Thomas's first marriage or Lucinda's first marriage. Thomas's will indicates that their maiden names were Creed, not Cocke.
