Although her adoption was not formal, she went by the surname of Woodring. Her brother, Jean Frances Hause, 3 years younger, was informally adopted by another Aunt, Jennie Kliphouse Mahedy, however, he did not adopt the surname of his aunt and continued with his given surname, Hause.
