Glendora died of pneumonia in her home in McKeesport with her husband and all nine sons with her, just twelve days before what would have been her 53th birthday.
Burial: Glendora's grave marker has the wrong year of her birth. It says 1880 but she was born in 1879.
Fact 1: Twelfth of fourteen children; grew up on the family farm. Sometime before 1900 Glendora went to Pittsburgh, PA, where her sister Ethel lived, and was employed for a time as a stenographer.
Fact 2: She next taught school in what appears in an old photograph to be a one-room schoolhouse.
Fact 3: Glendora married Frank William Schweitzer of McKeesport,PA and it was in that city they made their home-first on Jenny Lind St where their first two sons were born, Leslie and Raymond.
Resided: They moved later to 1114 Parker St- that address was renamed 1213 Meadow St at a later date. There the other seven sons were born. All the boys attended nearby Versailles Public School which was in full view of the Schweitzer backyard.
Religion: Glendora and her boys attended the Coursin Street Methodist Episcopal Church. Those who knew her best have said she was never heard to utter a word against anyone and some have described her as saintly.
