US Congressman. He was a journalist for the Associated Press in New York City, 1939 to 1947 and executive editor of the Albany Times-Union, 1960 to 1966. In 1967, he was elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth Congress and Ninety-first Congress, serving until 1971. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed journalism and was the editor of Science Digest Magazine. He died of a respiratory ailment.
