Son of Valentin Franck and Maria Sabina Reis in Germany. Married Christina Scheel in 1829 in Germany, where she is buried.

Valentine is the brother of John Frank, who also immigrated to the US. John changed his family name to Frank upon immigration.

Father of Maria Anna (Mary) Franck.

Valentine immigrated to the U.S. at age 42. He traveled on the ship, Mary Phillips, and arrived in New York on June 18, 1846. He listed his occupation as Baker.

He must have traveled to St. Louis soon thereafter, as his daughter immigrated in 1848 to join her father in St. Louis.

In 1880, he was living at the "Home for the Aged" on Hebert St. (Little Sisters of the Poor); he was 76 years old and listed his occupation as a "gardner". His marital status was "widower."

At his death in 1882, he was living at 521 Geyer Ave. and his occupation was listed as baker. His cause of death was listed as "Debility."
