Last Saturday the burial of Mrs. Meyer, nee Estorf, took place, accompanied by a large funeral procession,

Pastor Brinkner (Brueckner) of Zion Lutheran Church in Westfield dedicates the following obituary to the deceased:

The deceased was born on June 5, 1830, at Barum in the jurisdiction of Medingen, Hannover. As Mrs. Baumgarten she emigrated with her husband and several children to America and settled in the town of Westfield. After a number of years she was widowed, but later she married a second time. This marriage, like the first one, was also blessed with children. She leaves behind, besides her husband, 11 children of whom the four youngest are still minors and of school age. Therefore they will for some time need_____ and care.

The beginning of the illness which caused her death the deceased dated back to last winter when she had a serious fall and since that time always felt somewhat unwell It seems that incurable sores (boils) had formed on her digestive organs. The more the illness advanced, the less she could enjoy life, and the more her strength declined. The pain, however, was increasing and it was obvious, also to her, that the Lord was hastening with her to her end.
Her condition was especially painful during the last week, and with great anticipation and desire she looked for the end. This came finally after much prayer and pleading on the evening of October 5 at ___o'clock. Therefore she reached the age of 51 years, 4 months. As her soul rests with God, so may her body now rest in the grave until it on the last day will arise to eternal life.
