FUNSTON IS DEAD.The Late General Funston Related to Emporians.San Francisco, June 8 (AP) -- Mrs. Frederick Funston, widow of Major General Funston, died of a heart attack at Letterman hospital here yesterday. She was well known here for her political and civic work. General Funston, who commanded the 20th Kansas Volunteers in the Philippine insurrection, was famous for his capture of the rebel leader, Aguinaldo. He died in 1917.General Funston was a brother of Mrs. F. A. Eckdall and a cousin of Miss Maude Minrow, of Emporia.
