"Carl E. McGlaun, doctor of Chiropractic, began his professional career well trained and equipped, and has gained for himself an indispensable place in the ranks of those who render professional service to the City of Beaumont. He is a native Texan, born in Lavaca County in June, 1898, and was five years of age when his parents moved to Beaumont. He grew up in that city, attending local schools. After graduating from the South Park High School in 1916, he spent some time in Rice Institute at Houston, and prepared for his profession in the Palmer School of Chiropractic at Davenport, Iowa. He was graduated in 1921, and at once returned to Beaumont, where he has achieved recognition for his own expert abilities and has contributed to the appreciation of chiropractic as an important branch of the science of healing. Doctor McGlaun has his offices in the Alexander Building. He is a member of the Texas State Chiropractic Association, Southeast Texas Chiropractic Society, and is a member of the Christian Church, Knights of Pythias and its social adjunct, the D.O.K.K. He married, March 20, 1924, Dovie Evelyn Kelly, of Beaumont.
