I'm certain there are others of this family buried in the same lot ...the stones are unreadable.
He has a sketch in the Portrait & Biographical Album of Lake Co., ILL.
Stated as "I. Y. Cory", born in Hamilton, Canada.
He was a clerk for O. Dickinson, a large grain dealer in Waukegan.
In 1856 he purchased the Waukegan Gazette.
He left Waukegan for New York in 1876 where he was dealing stocks on Wall Street.
The sketch said he made many political enemies but had a host of friends.

He married Elizabeth Kellogg in 1852 and they had two children, Kate and Stewart. Stewart was a paper dealer in New York and Kate a designer and artist of NYC.

I found an Illinois marriage license:

In two census records he is stated to be an 'Editor'.
His name is seen as James...middle initial looks more like 'G'.
They may had had a brother named Benjamin S. J. b. abt. 1840 Canada as seen in an 1880 census record.
