Rev. Washington I. Wright Sr., of 22 E. Federal St. Burlington, NJ pastor of the Second Baptist Church, Burlington since 1936, died Sunday, He was 84.
Before assuming the pastorate of the Burlington Church, he served as pastor of St. Paul's Baptist Chruch in Florence NJ for 20 years.
Mr. Wright, a Mason, served as advisor of youth groups in Burlington for many years. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Association, Ministers Conference of Philadelphia and Burlington County Chapter NAACP.
He is survived by his wife, Susie; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Johnson and Mrs. Mary O'Farrow, both of Burlington, four sisters, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday in the Second Baptist Church.
