METHUEN — Eva M. (Bourque) Anderson, 93, of Methuen, daughter of George Bourque and Regina (Riberdy) Bourque, died peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

Eva was born in Lawrence and spent her early years living in South Lawrence. She was educated at Sacred Heart School and she worked at Jack's Place making Chicken Barbeque's and later as a nanny and cook for Dr. Batal. The family moved to Methuen in 1958. When her children were grown, Eva worked at her sister Cecile's, Fish & Chip on Prospect Hill for many years. She was a former member of Christian Women's Club and Merrimack Valley Quilters.

Eva was predeceased by her husband Raymond Anderson, her brothers George and William and her sisters Cecile and Corinne. Eva and Raymond were married in June of 1940 and have six children, three sons, Russell Anderson and his wife Catherine, of Lawrence, Kenneth Anderson and his wife Dale, of Haverhill, Raymond Anderson and his wife Anne, of Lawrence, three daughters, Jean McAndrew, of Pelham, N.H., Ruth Martineau and her husband Joseph, of Methuen and Paula Francis and her husband Bruce, of Danville, N.H. Eva also has 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Eva enjoyed cooking and baking, especially Swedish Oatmeal Cookies. She was a talented seamstress and made most of her own clothes. She was also very adept at Knitting, Crocheting, Japanese Bunka and Quilting. She loved vacationing at Newfound Lake with her husband and enjoyed playing cards and Bingo but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Eva is remembered as a very kind, gentle, loving soul and was very strong in her Catholic faith.
