Virginia H. Tootle, 85, of Clarksburg, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 1:42 a.m. in Valley View Care Center, Frankfort. She was born Sept. 2, 1923 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Lula Jane Davis Hudson. She married Floyd J. Tootle on Aug. 7, 1941 and her preceded her in death Jan.1, 1995.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-laws; F. Jay and Susan Tootle and James E. and Charla Tootle all of Clarksburg, two grandchildren; Timothy (Michelle) Tootle and Wendy (Bill) Hines, six great grandchildren, one sister; Nancy Howell of Lucasville, three brothers; Carl "Willie" Hudson of Chillicothe, Harry Hudson of Martinsburg, WV, Henry Hudson of Chillicothe. Preceding her in death are four sisters; Ruth Morris, Ruby Mankin, Dorothy Thatcher, Betty Meddock and one brother; Clyde Hudson.
Virginia was a graduate of Clarksburg High School and later worked as a cook for the Clarksburg School. She was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church, Clarksburg Garden Club, Canasta Club, was a host for many family gatherings and was a faithful caregiver to her husband during his illness.
Services were entrusted to Ebright Funeral Home of Frankfort, Ohio.
