Mary Helen joined the Convent of St. Agnes in Barton, WI. at age 15, and became "Sister Agatha". In 1871 she moved to St. Joseph, Minnesota and joined the Sisters at the St. Benedict's convent. Here she became "Sister Aloysia". She became Mother Superior of St. Benedict's in 1877, at age 27. She resigned in 1883, only be become elected Mother Superior again in 1889, in the communities first free election. In 1895, she was re-elected for another 6 year term. Aloysia passed away on April 16, 1933.
