George Bernard Karl of Rockford, Iowa, passed away Saturday, April 27, at the Oxford Home, Oxford, Wis., following a short illness. Mr. Karl was a former resident of Beaver Dam. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. from the Briese Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Pierron will officiate at the service and interment will be at St. Peter's cemetery. Mr. Karl was born March 24, 1896, in Beaver Dam, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Karl. He had resided most of his lifetime in the Rockford, Iowa, area.
Survivors are: three brothers, Frank, Joe and Jake Karl, all of Beaver Dam; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Clark, Angeline Karl, and Mrs. Celia Thiede, all of Beaver Dam; several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding him in death were: his parents; two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Karl was a member of the Walker-Graper Legion Post 338 of Rockford, Iowa, for a period of 50 years. Friends may call at the Briese Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. this evening until the hour of the service on Tuesday.
He was buried on Apr 30 1968 in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam, WI. He served in World War I, was a farmer and carpenter in the Rockford, Iowa area.
