From Louise Johnson's History of Hawley, pg 189: An early copy of the Greenfield Gazette states "Miss Lillian G Crittenden, who went west in September, is on probation in the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, where she expects to take a two years' course in training for a nurse. Miss Crittenden is enjoying living in the west very much."
