Kathryn-9 Elizabeth Crippen, B.A., GRS., was the only child of W. Irving-8 Crippen and his wife Emma Ada Slider.

She completed her studies at Michigan Sate College/University at East Lansing, MI, majoring in higher mathematics and received a life-time teaching certificate.

After a four-year engagement, she married Russell Lewis Warner, B.A., GRS, of Wheatfield Twp., (Williamston), Ingham, MI.

3 WARNER children: J.C.W. Presently living (2019) with D.I.W., and M.E.W. Passing in 2017 respectively.

After being a successful farmer's housewife (canning, gardening, raising 3 children, sewing, 4-H leader, substitute teacher at the North Leslie (Ingham Co., MI) Teaspoon Corners country school, and community leader (and after her children left home), she began researching her Crippen genealogy in earnest. Her father, W. Irving Crippen had shared his love for genealogy with her, and it was a natural interest for her to follow.

In 1972, she and her husband, Russell drove back east and found the link between William Crippen and his wife Content Standish in the Kenyonville Cemetery (also known as Eagle Harbor), Gaines, Orleans, NY. She purchased the Crippen research collection of Samuel Willett Comstock of Devon, CT, and began collating the findings from that collection. At the same time, her interest included finding Michigan pioneers, and she contributed many work sheets to the Michigan Pioneer project.

After her untimely death, her husband Russell worked on her Crippen research and compiled the results for the Mayflower Society's Silver-Cover Myles Standish edition, Vol. 14, pub. 1997.
