MRS. B.F. (NETTIE) MADDOX of Woodland died Monday, 25 May 1981 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Services were held Tuesday, 26 May at the Woodland United Methodis Church with the Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in Woodland Cemetery.

Mrs. Maddox was born 1 Jun 1891 in Alabama, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hightower. She married Benjamin F. Maddox in 1908 in Parker County. They lived in Medicine Mound in West Texas until 1952 when they moved to Woodland. Mr. Maddox died 31 Mar 1957.
She was a member of the Woodland Methodist Church and its Adult Sunday School Class, a member of the United Methodist Women and was church treasurer for a number of years.

Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Hal Goodnight of Memphis, TX, Mrs. J.M. Grange of White Deer and Mrs. R.N. Harris of Tyler. Eight sons; John L. Maddox of Woodland, William F. (Ted) Maddox of Borger, Jack C. Maddox of Paris, Frank Maddox Jr. of Houston, Bob R. Maddox of Racine, Wisc., Ken Maddox of Nacogdoches, Tom Maddox and James S. (Stan) Maddox, both of Rt.1, Blossom; 36 grandchildren; and one brother, Pat Hightower of Tyler.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Porter, in 1919 and Linus in 1962. Pallbearers were Billy Fred Maddox, David N. Maddox, Larry B. Maddox, clinton Maddox, John M. Maddox, Steve Harris, Rhoney M. Grange, Joe Cline Grange and Jerry D. Grange.
